Hardcore’s last stand continues with Document #5, a violent outburst from Pg.99 who harness reshaped elements of ancient punk and grindcore in the service of an art theme extending back to Munch, Artaud and Bacon, in which a horror of life is expressed through the existential human scream. Suitably experimental at its core, Document #5 joins contemporaneous works by Botch and Dillinger Escape Plan at hardcore’s fiery final frontier.
