Creation Books is an independent publishing imprint founded in 1989 by Alan McGee and James Williamson. Creation Books’ activities have included commissioning new translations of French, German, Japanese and Italian literature, licensing previously unavailable or out-of-print material, creating new enhanced editions of public domain material, generating original projects in-house, and supporting the work of new authors by publishing books by those authors at Creation’s own expense and risk. Creation Books terminated its program of supporting authors in 2012 after being subjected to a scurrilous campaign of threats, extortion, defamation and libel. Creation Books now concentrates on maintaining its extensive backlist of book titles, which may be purchased from all bookstores and online outlets worldwide. Creation Books and its associated imprints have sold over 800,000 copies of their publications to date.
