Among the more extreme works engineered by Steve Albini, Punishment Room was the initial album release by Distorted Pony, an LA noise-rock project dedicated to the monomaniacal enforcement of heavy hardcore sound. In the tradition of Albini’s Big Black, Distorted Pony present Punishment Room as a slaughterman’s hammer to the skull seeding shards of its genetic code in flowers of shivered bone, the superimposition of concentric noise onto a final unravelling of the senses.
