Avant-garde Italian library music, a sonic evocation of interplanetary exploration, outer space and the terrors of unknown alien landscapes. Composer Egisto Macchi uses electronics, sound effects and dissonant orchestration to create one of the most experimental examples of the genre, an opus which, as its title implies, purveys a disquieting and sombre futurism. Originally released on the Gemelli label, also famous for its giallo scores and other cutting-edge film soundtracks, I Futuribili was in the vanguard of a new music dedicated to exploring notions of the cosmic through electronics.
